Mona started as something deeply personal. It is a tribute.

Founder Basem Metri grew up watching his mom, Mona, always in the kitchen. No matter how busy life got, she made sure there was something fresh, healthy, and made with love on the table. Whether it was a quick bite between long days or a full meal shared together, her food supported an always-on entrepreneurial lifestyle.

Mona was created to bring that same feeling to Basem's hometown of Braintree—real Mediterranean food that is fresh, balanced, and made for people on the go. Food that actually makes you feel good.

The entire concept was inspired by a mother's love and reflects that in both the quality of the food and the level of care in the service. It is about making people feel taken care of, even on their busiest days.

Named in her honor, Mona reflects who she is. A local dentist and owner of Serenity Dental, you will often see her stopping by, grabbing lunch, spending time with the staff, and enjoying the atmosphere.

To bring the vision to life, Basem partnered with Culinary Director Robert Torino. Later, Anthony Castellano joined as a partner and COO, completing what has become one strong team, built like a family.

At the core of Mona is something simple: show love and be loved.

From partners, to staff, to the community and customers who walk through the door every day, that feeling carries through everything.
